Behold, my second book, A Book About Books, forthcoming 2024 on One of the Big Five Book Publishers.
Books are spells cast throughout culture. But how does a text become a published book? What exactly defines that? Where does all of this power come from?
I am endlessly fascinated by systems of distribution and how art finds its audience. In this book, I discuss the myriad of paths that authors can follow in publishing their work, the current book distribution landscape, the impact of the Ingram consolidation, and speculations toward the future of book publishing.
This book aims to:
Equip authors with a better understanding of the business behind creating, distributing, and marketing their work.
Give aspiring book publishers deep insight into the systems they'll have to navigate.
Generally celebrate the process that is publishing books.
